Frequently asked questions
What ages and schedules do you have?
We welcome children ages 2, 3 and 4. There are three schedules: three mornings, five mornings and a full day. Two-year-olds come in the mornings.
Which language do you use in the classroom?
The teachers speak Spanish with the children through the day. With families we speak Spanish or English, as you prefer.
Does my child need to speak Spanish to join?
No. Many families speak English at home. The teachers welcome each child where they are, and at the tour we explain what the first week is like.
What is a tour like?
It lasts a morning. You will see the classrooms and the yard, meet the teachers and can bring your child. You book with a short form or on WhatsApp.
What sets tuition?
The child's age and the schedule you choose. We give the figures at the tour.
How is a place held, and how does the waitlist work?
A place is held with registration and the first month. If there is none, your family joins the waitlist and we write when one opens, in the order of the list.
Is the school licensed by the state?
Yes. Yucca holds a child care license from the state of Texas.
What happens if my child gets sick?
If a child becomes ill at school, we call the family to pick them up. A child with a fever or a contagious illness stays home until feeling well.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
No. Two-year-olds learn to use the toilet at their own pace, with a teacher alongside, and we talk it over with the family.
What do you do when a child has a hard day?
A teacher sits with the child, talks calmly and offers something quiet to do. If needed, we talk with the family at the end of the day.
