A day
A day in Spanish
From arrival to pickup, these are the parts of the day.
- 01
Step 1: 8:00 a.m. · Arrival and hello
Families arrive until 8:30. We say hello at the door, in Spanish, and each child leaves a backpack and a water bottle.
- 02
Step 2: 9:00 a.m. · Circle and story
A song, the plan for the day and a story read aloud. The children point, repeat and sing.
- 03
Step 3: 10:00 a.m. · Snack and yard
Water and snack at the table, then play in the yard, in the shade.
- 04
Step 4: 11:00 a.m. · Corners and projects
The kitchen, the blocks, art and books. The teachers sit with the children and talk about what they are doing.
- 05
Step 5: 12:30 p.m. · Lunch and morning pickup
The morning children go home. The full-day children have lunch at the table.
- 06
Step 6: 1:00 p.m. · Rest and afternoon
A quiet rest, with mats for those who need one, then stories, drawing and play until pickup at 3:00 p.m.
